If you look at entry #71 on the Wikipedia for San Diego’s historic places, you’ll see another inspiration for the building in Keep Moving, Please: the Medico-Dental building, which, although much larger, is similar in style to the McClintock Warehouse.
Also, you may have noticed the address that Bevens deboarded the bus at—Ash and Colombia. It’s a real location, but it isn’t the address of either of the two buildings. I chose it simply because Ash and Colombia sound like the most formidable street names in San Diego.
Finally, take a look at what you get when you combine Medico-Dental with Erie Insurance Group:
